About Us

My photo
In 1977 we hired our first narrowboat from Anglo Welsh at Market Harborough. From that moment our destiny was set. In 2006 we finally purchased our own brand new 57' narrowboat which we named 'Free Spirit'. Our aim is to travel the length and breadth of all the navigable rivers and canals of the UK. This will be our story as it unfolds.

Saturday 6 September 2014

Campbell Park and Newlands were full.

Only a few spaces to be had so were lucky to grab one by the park. There was a wide beam to the back of us that insists on running his engine well into the evening. We first became aware of it while we were moored opposite on the park side. Hadn't realised then that it was the wide beam but we certainly do now!!! Wish they would just think about other boaters instead of themselves.

Another photo showing our mooring and the Crack Willow.
Weather isn't perfect today but pleased that the rain has kept away. Off to #1 son for a BBQ but first both of us are to earn our keep with Ian helping Colin putting the coving up in the living room, and me doing a spot of gardening as well as keeping the Grandchildren occupied.

Walked Jade round the small pond first thing and took these pictures. To far away to get a good photo but you can get the gist.

Mobbed by the Gulls

Decided enough was enough

Hovering over the pond and within yards of me.
